Session 4
A few weeks ago, the students collected some recycled items to use for STEM. The Flipgrid videos they created were very cute. During our session the students will use the recycled items to create a Matter Materials Monster. They will use the items we classified and rearrange them to make a new structure. They will then create a Flipgrid video describing the items they used and changes they made to create their masterpiece. Here is the link to the Flipgrid.

Session 3
We will get an understanding of what matter is, classify objects by what they are made of and how different structures can be made.
We read the book Matter: Physical Science for Kids
Session 2
In this lesson we will discover what an Engineer, Scientist and an Inventor are and what they do. The students will participate in giving their ideas and gaining an understanding of how engineers help us. They will also consider what would be a great new invention.
Session 1In this session, we will make introductions, discuss procedures, define STEM and complete a Flipgrid challenge to build a STEM Toolbox from recycled items.
After the Live session, students will complete the assignment.
In the Flipgrid assignment: Students will: 1. Introduce themselves and tell 3 things about them. 2. Tell what STEM means. 3.Tell what they found on their STEM scavenger hunt (We will talk about the items during the live class). Use the link or the QR code to make the Flipgrid video.
